Welcome to the home of the University of Houston’s SLICK, a lower limb powered exoskeleton giving paraplegics the power to walk.

CYBATHLON

The Cybathlon is the first ever competition “racing pilots with disabilities using advanced assistive devices including robotic technologies.” Teams from around the world will be participating in six different events including a powered lower limb exoskeleton obstacle course race. The challenge is to push the edge of technology toward addressing real world problems of accessibility and activities of daily life. Eleven teams are competing in the lower limb exoskeleton event addressing obstacles like climbing stairs, walking on uneven terrain and navigating obstacles.
